Globally Present, Locally Driven

Our roots stem from a private sector agribusiness in America’s heartland. Our projects, partnerships and local insights cross continents. These factors steer how we work to strengthen global agricultural markets. But, you don’t have to take our word for it. Learn more about individual projects below.

Preventing and reducing food insecurity in vulnerable households

October 2019 - June 2024

Maharo is a USAID-funded Development Food Assistance Activity (DFSA) aimed at preventing and reducing acute food insecurity among the most vulnerable households in Madagascar. The program is improving access to basic and emergency services, including food aid, health and nutrition, water, and protection. It is building households’ resilience, protecting property, and reducing vulnerability to acute food insecurity. Maharo aims to reach approximately 60,000 households in the districts of Beloha, Tsihombe, and Ampanihy.

In partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Land O’Lakes Venture 37 is responsible for implementing all of the project’s livestock-related activities, in particular helping vulnerable households to produce, manage, and market goats, sheep, and poultry, which many communities depend on for their livelihoods. Venture37 is also strengthening systems that promote the production and of consumption of nutritious animal sourced foods. The project’s Venture37 Livestock Team is located in Toliara, Madagascar.
