In Rwanda, a Feed the Future activity is partnering with the private sector to tackle supply chain issues for smallholder farmers.
Rwanda’s vision is to become an upper middle-income country by 2035. The livestock sector plays key roles in attaining this goal. And yet, livestock production in Rwanda is hampered by limited access to quality animal feeds, animal genetics, and other key livestock inputs. For the past four years, the Feed the Future Rwanda Orora Wihaze Activity has been working with private sector actors to address the supply chain constraints related to smallholder farmers’ access to quality animal feeds and improved pig genetics.
